STORY THEMES WORKSHOP
What grabs your attention? What hooks you in to read one story over another? I will discuss what a story hook is, its relation to themes, find them in stories you've read, compare them, and write our own.
I will host a game of picture book or graphic novel 'JEOPARDY'. I will test your knowledge on the elements of children's books from authors, genres, to the awards given to a book that you may not normally think about.
MAKING A PICTURE BOOK OR GRAPHIC NOVEL WORKSHOP
I will bring to life the process of making a picture book or graphic novel. From idea to publication. I will provide a sample manuscript for you to illustrate, and to be read as a completed book at the end of the session.
WRITING JOURNEY WORKSHOP
Twitter pitching was one of my entries into the world of publishing. I'll share tips on writing, revising, rejection, what Twitter pitching is, lessons learned, and how to apply the concept to your writing.
I will work with you on customizing a presentation or workshop based on your need. I am able to add an arts and crafts element depending on the age group. I am also available to discuss my writing journey, writing process, and more.
*Presentations run 30 to 45 minutes depending on your need with time for Q & A.
